Hello, Mr. Rafael. A lot of people admire you for being a champion both on and off the court. Now I ask you to order those according to your preference: your fourth Roland Garros, the Davis Cup or the golden medal at Beijing. Thanks a lot and good luck, crack!

Thanks a lot. In chronological order, Paris, Wimbledon, Beijing and Davis Cup lol. They all are important, so, at this moment, Roland Garros. After that, we’ll see. Winning everything you say would be unbelievable.

Hello, Rafa. We are waiting expectantly for your debut at Roland Garros 08. ¿How does the rain issue affects your concentration and your day by day at Paris?
Borja Madrid

Actually, it’s almost unbearable. It reminds me a lot the Wimbledon tournament of the last year. Today I only played 7 minutes at 7’30 p.m. after leaving the hotel at 8’30 a.m. I warmed up a bit at 3 p.m., for about 17 minutes. But the situation is the same for the two players, that’s the fact.

Hi, Rafa. First of all, I wanted to thank you for your spirit and dedication, that returned me old memories of Connors and McEnroe. I’d like to know how do you see yourself in the second half of the year, after Wimbledon. Do you think you can reach the number one?
Anonymous

Well, let’s see how I manage to finish the first half before thinking in the second one, right? This year has been the best one in my entire career, you only have to take a look at the points I’ve obtained and the regularity in every tournament besides Roma. I hope the second half of the year will be that good.

About reaching the number one… we’ll see, I’m not thinking that much about it.

Hi, Rafa. What do you think about ‘the Djokovic menace’? As you pointed out, he could surpass you during this year (although it won’t be easy for him). However, I think that, ever if he surpasses you this year, the next one Djokovic won’t be able to keep those results. Are you worried or it doesn’t bothers you at all?

Djokovic is playing really well, and he’s a total player. But, at the forefront it’s Federer, and in the race we are side by side. This is a very good year, especially for the fans. We’ll see how it ends. I hope everything will go well.

Hi, Rafa. First of all, my best wishes for you at Roland Garros. I want to ask you a couple of things: don’t you think it’s a little unfair the fact that the Federer match was brought forward, when the majority of his group were playing in Tuesday? Could you tell me what you think about your group? Greetings, and good luck, champion!
Emilio Javier Navarro

Hi Emilio, thanks a lot. I don’t think they know it was about to rain. Thinking about advantages would be an error. Things have come like this, that’s all. The first affected for the situation, besides ourselves the players, is the organisation. It’s just a matter of luck.

Someone could say that situation benefits me, because I have more days to rest. It all depends on who you ask. However, I would prefer to have played, for sure.

Hi Rafa! I'd like to know where did you have your best fishing experience, and how big was the biggest fish you're captured.
Lynn

That question is a difficult one, trust me. The biggest fish I captured was about one meter long, I think, in Mallorca.

What do you think about Kim Clijsters and her decision of retire from sport?
Amber

She is a great person, and we'll miss her a lot in the tournaments. But it's her decision and I'm sure it will be a good choice. She wants to start a family... It's logic.

How many sons would you like to have?
Grama

Well, I don't know it at this time.

Between all the matches you've played, what's the one you would pick?
Alex

I can't pick a single one. I have a lot of memories and obviously the Copa Davis' match against Roddick comes immediately to my mind, as well as the two finals of Roland Garros. I usually remind every game I play.

Do you have any pet?
Annie

No, I don't.

Hi Rafa! There are always a lot of fans shouting your name during your games. Can you hear them despite of the concentration?
Pam

Pam, I try as hard as I can to keep concentrated, but sure I can listen people shouting my name and giving me their support. I have to thank all of you for that.

Hi Rafa! First of all, you're an awesome player, I love to see your games. I want to know what do you do with your old racquets.
Etje

Normally I just give them to my fans or friends. I always keep at least one for me, thinking about the future...
