Rafa's comeback at the China Open has come to an end on Saturday after a straight set loss (6-1 6-3) to Croat Marin Cilic in the semi-final round of the tournament.

In what was their first career meeting, Marin took an overwhelming lead over Rafa after just 15 minutes of the first set (5-0) and never allowed Rafa to get into the match.

The 21-year-old’s huge serve and power from both sides of the baseline were simply too good today and he deserves to be congratulated for a great effort. Rafa will be very proud of himself for having made it this far after a 2-week injury break and is very greatful for all the support he received from his fans during his stay.
