PAGES OF SOLIDARITY

During the Monte Carlo tournament , Rafa signed and dedicated to the fans the book written by the friend and tennis coach Luca Appino, who gathered a total of 30 unpublished exclusive articles about his life."The world of Rafa Nadal: 30 ways to improve your game, by Luca Appino in collaboration with Toni Nadal" is the title of the book, which has been published in three languages (Spanish, French and English) and also features a series of unique photos taken by Gianni Caccia. While signing the copies , Rafa himself invited the readers to follow the advice of his friend Luca. Toni Nadal showed his satisfaction at having contributed to the book and the author, Luca Appino, confirmed that it is an excellent idea to help the youngsters and their environment to do their best both in the personal sphere and in the world of tennis.

Part of the profits from this book , already available in the Proshop, will go to the Rafa Nadal Foundation and its projects in the field of cooperation and development in favour of childhood. The following week, during his visit to Barcelona in order to play the Barcelona Open BancoSabadell tournament, Rafa took opportunity to launch the novel "Juego, set y partido".

This book , aimed at children from nine years old, tells a fiction story inspired on Rafa's life and written by the author Jordi Serra i Fabra. It relates the first adventures of Sergio, a youngster who stands out for his great qualities in the two sports he practices at once (tennis and football) and who, at his only twelve, is called to face his first big decision: to choose one of them.

The work, written in Spanish and available at any bookstore in Spain, is a joint initiative of the Rafa Nadal Foundation, the Iberostar Foundation and the publisher Destino Infantil y Juvenil, hoped to contribute spreading values such as effort, dedication and comradeship, as well as encouraging reading among the youngsters.

The profits from the novel are going entirely to the Rafa Nadal Foundation, starting his first charity activities to help the most underprivileged children.
